While some media outlets, such as Telemundo, reported that Mebarak had been hospitalized in a local clinic, family sources clarified to La FM and Infobae Colombia that he was not hospitalized. Instead, he was receiving medical treatment at home with the assistance of nursing professionals. Local footage showed Mebarak using a wheelchair while being assisted by healthcare staff. 

Mebarak has a history of medical challenges, including a head injury in 2022, surgery for hydrocephalus in 2023, and pneumonia in 2024.
