In Khoy, West Azerbaijan, a new monument and the Shams Tabrizi Shrine have been inaugurated to honor the Persian mystic. The ceremony, attended by the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri, included the renaming of the city’s main square in honor of Shams Tabrizi.

The shrine complex spans approximately 7,000 square meters and serves as a cultural and research hub. It features a dome building, research spaces, and a library containing roughly 8,000 volumes. The project, completed with a budget of 250 billion tomans after a twenty-year hiatus, has been officially registered as a national heritage site of Iran.
