Shaquille O’Neal was named an honorary FBI special agent by Director Kash Patel during the graduation ceremony for the 299th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

O’Neal was recognized alongside 265 law enforcement officials. The honor follows his extensive history with law enforcement, which includes serving as a reserve officer with the Los Angeles Port Police and the Miami Beach Police Department, as well as being named an honorary U.S. Deputy Marshal in 2005. His previous affiliations with law enforcement also include roles as a reserve officer or deputy in Florida, Arizona, Georgia, and California.

During his acceptance speech, O’Neal utilized his signature sense of humor, jokingly telling the audience, ‘If you see Charles Barkley, arrest him,’ in reference to his longtime television colleague. Director Patel described O’Neal as one of the country’s most significant supporters of law enforcement.
