The Sharks and Leinster faced each other in a United Rugby Championship (URC) match in Durban. Prior to the encounter, Sharks coach Joey Mongalo described the matchup as “fire against fire” due to both teams utilizing similar defensive systems focused on line-speed.

Following the match, which resulted in a 26-20 victory for the Sharks, Leinster recorded consecutive defeats in their URC campaign. In response to injuries to Scott Penny and Max Deegan, Leinster head coach Leo Cullen has implemented a hybrid tactical approach. This strategy includes utilizing Robbie Henshaw in a dual role, starting at inside centre while providing cover for the back row.
