Former England footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips joined the 2026 series of Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional dancer Alexis Warr. Prior to the competition, Wright-Phillips expressed a goal to dance at a professional level, stating he was “in it to win it,” despite supercomputer simulations suggesting he faced a low chance of winning.

Following his debut performance, Wright-Phillips and Warr earned a score of 15 for their Cha-Cha, placing them joint bottom of the leaderboard. Consequently, bookmakers have identified him as the favorite to be the first contestant eliminated from the competition.
