Singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow released the single ‘Freight Train’ in mid-September, a mid-tempo track from her upcoming twelfth studio album, ‘Pick You Up’. The single, which explores themes of loneliness and human connection, followed the August release of ‘Freedom Bus’. On October 9, Crow released the full-length album, ‘Pick You Up’. Originally planned as a six-song EP, the project expanded to include tracks such as ‘I’ve Got Your Number’ and ‘Heaven Help Us’. The Americana-leaning album focuses on themes of healing, resilience, and coping with isolation, while containing certain political undertones regarding the United States and its global relations. In discussing the release, Crow described the project as a commentary on human connection and an attempt to spread hope and confidence. Reflecting on her career, she noted her early experience as a background singer for Michael Jackson during his ‘Bad’ world tour in the late 1980s, characterizing the period as ‘surreal’ and stating she witnessed ‘really strange things’ in the industry. She also noted that she has not seen and does not intend to watch the documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-09: Sheryl Crow releases new album ‘Pick Me Up’ Sheryl Crow releases new album ‘Pick Me Up’ and reflects on her early career experiences as a background singer for Michael Jackson during his ‘Bad’ world tour. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/sheryl-crow-releases-new-album-pick-me-up ### 2026-10-06: Sheryl Crow releases 12th studio album ‘Pick You Up’ Sheryl Crow releases ‘Pick You Up’, her 12th studio album, an Americana-leaning project centered on themes of healing and human connection. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/sheryl-crow-releases-12th-studio-album-pick-you-up ### 2026-09-17: Sheryl Crow releases new single ‘Freight Train’ Sheryl Crow has released the single ‘Freight Train’ ahead of her twelfth studio album, ‘Pick You Up’, set for release on October 9. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/sheryl-crow-releases-new-single-freight-train --- Cite as: Sheryl Crow album release cycle.
