During the Blind Auditions of ‘The Voice of Germany’, coach Shirin David utilized the show’s ‘block’ rule strategically against fellow coach Nico Santos. In one instance, David requested that production lift a block against Santos to allow contestant Aylin Basar to pursue her preferred coach, stating, ‘I do not want to prevent anyone from living their dream.’ David also used a ‘joker’ to secure contestant Benjamin Bieck for her team after previously blocking Santos during his audition.

As the competition progressed to the battle rounds, the atmosphere became more emotional. During rehearsals for a performance of Billie Eilish’s ‘What I Was Made For’, David was moved to tears by contestants Aylin Basar and Diogo Rosa. The emotional weight was attributed to the contestants' personal stories regarding their families. Following the live performance, David and other coaches praised the duo for the vocal quality and the ‘intimate feeling’ they brought to the stage.
