An 18-year-old man, Werling Mendez, died after being shot in the head during a car meet-up on East 233rd Street near Boston Road in Eastchester. 

Authorities report that the violence erupted following the robbery of two women. More than 60 shell casings were recovered at the scene. Three other individuals were struck by gunfire: a 22-year-old man was shot in the chest, and two women, aged 20 and 25, were hit in the feet. The survivors were hospitalized in stable condition. 

Police noted that these gatherings, often fueled by social media trends, involve large numbers of modified vehicles performing reckless maneuvers and illegal street racing. Three suspects fled the scene in an Acura, and no arrests had been made.
