While Taylor Sheridan created the franchise, the screenplay for this installment is being written by Steven Knight, the creator of ‘Peaky Blinders’. Padraic McKinley has been tapped to direct the film following a selection process that included input from the lead actors. Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Benicio del Toro have all signed on to reunite for their respective roles as Kate Macer, Matt Graver, and Alejandro Gillick. This marks a significant return for Blunt, who was absent from the 2018 sequel, ‘Sicario: Day of the Soldado’.
