SK Beveren maintained a significant home unbeaten streak at the Freethiel, which reached 505 days following a 2-0 victory over STVV. Coach Tim Bakens attributed the success to the squad’s collective defensive effort and willingness to perform difficult tasks.

This streak was eventually broken by Lommel SK, who defeated Beveren 3-1. The loss allowed Lommel SK to overtake Beveren in the Jupiler Pro League standings. Following the match, coach Bakens noted that the team failed to maintain necessary intensity during the second half.

In the decisive match, Lommel SK’s Don-Angelo Konadu, an Ajax loanee, scored two goals, including a header in the 24th minute and a second goal shortly after halftime. Lucas Schoofs added a third goal for Lommel in the 56th minute. Although Chris Lokesa equalized for SK Beveren before halftime following an assist from Christian Brüls, the team was unable to mount a comeback.
