As part of its centenary celebrations, the Skopje Zoo has initiated several programs focused on education and facility improvement. In late September, the institution hosted a two-day student bazaar involving 22 secondary schools. Students showcased creative works and practical skills, with all proceeds dedicated to improving animal living conditions.

Following these celebrations, the zoo has moved into a phase of modernization and habitat renovation. Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski announced upgrades including the replacement of roofs, the installation of new lion enclosures, and the addition of protective fencing. The project also encompasses the construction of a children’s motor park and the renovation of the zoo’s plaza, aiming to establish the site as a center for nature protection and education.
