In the Slovenian Football Cup, third-division Korotan achieved a 2-1 upset victory over top-tier Maribor. Korotan coach Tin Kuzma attributed the win to tactical discipline, while Maribor coach Darko Milanič criticized his team’s performance as “unexpectedly poor and too slow.”

By the 12th round of the Slovenian PrvaLiga, Maribor maintained a four-point lead at the top of the table. However, the club faced squad challenges due to injuries and illness, forcing coach Milanič to rely on young midfielder Niko Osterc for upcoming matches. Meanwhile, second-place Koper continued its title race under new coach Milan Anđelković.
