Smartwings has begun adjusting its winter flight schedule from Prague due to rising aviation fuel costs and market uncertainty. Airline spokesperson Vladimíra Dufková noted that oil price volatility, driven by conflict in the Middle East, has forced carriers to revise capacities. Data from Eurocontrol indicates that European aviation fuel prices have more than doubled since the beginning of the year.

As the situation progressed, the airline implemented specific cancellations and frequency reductions. Significant changes include the suspension of flights to Valencia, Nice, and the postponement of new routes to Venice and Bergen until spring 2027. Other service reductions affect destinations such as Málaga, Barcelona, and Mallorca. Additionally, the airline has delayed the restoration of services to Brussels and Bucharest.
