Reports of snakes on Indian trains have emerged in separate incidents. Initially, a video circulated showing a snake slithering through a sleeper coach of the Katihar Express while in motion toward Kolkata, causing distress among passengers.

Subsequent reports from Bihar detailed two distinct situations. On the Jansewa Express, Railway Protection Force personnel apprehended six snake charmers at Dighwara Station for allegedly demanding money from passengers by displaying snakes. In a separate occurrence on the Swatantrata Senani Superfast Express, passengers in an AC 2-Tier coach panicked after a snake was seen moving into a panel above a berth. Railway authorities responded by replacing the coach at Muzaffarpur to ensure passenger safety.
