São Paulo FC is experiencing significant squad management difficulties driven by player injuries and contract complications.

In mid-September, the club reported setbacks with right-back Aurélio Buta, who required arthroscopy for a meniscus injury, and midfielder Bobadilla, who is sidelined with a medial collateral ligament issue. The club noted concerns that pain-management infiltrations used during the World Cup may have complicated Bobadilla’s recovery.

By late September, the situation expanded to include defensive instability. Center-back Domingos Duarte ended his season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Simultaneously, the club faced a roster impasse with left-back Enzo Díaz, who remains with the team through December 2028 despite being outside of manager Dorival Júnior’s tactical plans, following failed negotiations for a transfer or contract rescission.
