In Gorj County, Romania, new social service facilities have been established to support vulnerable populations. 

In Scoarța, an Independent Living Preparation Center was opened to assist beneficiaries of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) Gorj. Funded by the Gorj County Council, the facility focuses on fostering individual autonomy and dignity by providing residents with skills for daily life and self-sufficiency.

Following this, a new crisis center for adults with disabilities opened in Mătăsari. This facility, which has a capacity for 18 people, provides immediate support, housing, and specialized care for vulnerable adults in temporary or risky situations. The project was funded by the Gorj County Council through the rehabilitation of a building provided by the Mătăsari Local City Hall.
