In Sofia, protesters gathered in front of the Court Chamber to demand justice regarding the 2021 murder of 33-year-old Evgenia Vladimirova. The demonstration occurred ahead of a hearing at the Supreme Court of Cassation after the court annulled a previous appellate decision that had sentenced the victim’s husband and father-in-law to life imprisonment, citing procedural violations.

Demonstrators and relatives expressed deep distrust in the judicial system, calling for a retrial and life sentences for the perpetrators.
