The Solomon Islands is experiencing a recovery in its tourism sector. In 2024, visitor arrivals reached 25,130, which was a 3.3% decrease from the 25,996 visitors recorded in 2023. Returning residents made up 51.5% of arrivals, while Australians were the largest visitor group at 31.9%.

By 2025, international visitor arrivals rose to 28,548, representing a 13.6% increase over 2024 and approaching pre-pandemic levels. To support this growth, the government announced a record tourism budget of SBD 46.4 million for 2026 to fund infrastructure, marketing, and cultural protection. 

Additionally, the government has introduced digital reforms, including an Electronic Visa System and the Solomon Islands Border Management System (BMS). These systems allow for online applications and introduce 34 visa categories, including a 30-day visa-free period for approved applicants.
