Sony has expanded its E-mount lens portfolio, beginning with the release of two new macro lenses: the FE 100mm f/2.8 macro GM OSS for full-frame users and the SEL 30mm f/3.5 macro for APS-C Alpha NEX cameras.

Following these releases, Sony officially introduced the FE 8-14mm F3.5 G (SEL814G), marking its first native fisheye zoom lens for full-frame Alpha E-mount cameras. Scheduled for release on October 9, the lens is designed for landscape, architecture, sports, and video production. It features a weight of approximately 314 grams and an inner zoom mechanism to maintain balance when used with gimbals or rigs. The lens transitions from a 180-degree circular fisheye image at 8mm to a 180-degree diagonal fisheye view at 14mm. 

To minimize aberrations, the lens incorporates ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and aspherical elements, and it includes dust and moisture resistance with a fluorine coating on the front element. Technical features include two linear motors for fast autofocus, a customizable aperture ring, a zoom lock switch, and a focus hold (FH) mode intended for VR and FPV drone applications. The lens also supports spatial content production when paired with the VENICE Extension System Mini1.

Anticipation continues regarding two upcoming super-telephoto prime lenses: the FE 400mm f/4.5 GM OSS and the FE 600mm f/6.3 GM OSS. Leaked European pricing previously placed the 400mm model at approximately 3,000 EUR and the 600mm model at approximately 4,200 EUR, with expectations that these lenses will be lighter and more competitively priced than Nikon Z series alternatives.
