Sony Pictures is developing ‘Hollow’, a Gothic supernatural thriller and contemporary reimagining of ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’. The film is directed by and adapted from the forthcoming novel by Lindsey Anderson Beer, who is reframing the classic tale from the perspective of Katrina Van Tassel.

Sydney Sweeney is set to star as Van Tassel and will produce the project through her new company, Honey Trap, in collaboration with LuckyChap Entertainment and Lab Brew. In this version, Katrina is portrayed as the protagonist of a supernatural mystery and psychological thriller rather than a traditional romantic interest.

Belmont Cameli has joined the cast to star opposite Sweeney in the role of Brom Bones, while the role of Ichabod Crane remains uncast.
