Sony has adjusted its PlayStation 5 branding and hardware ecosystem. The company removed 8K branding from PlayStation 5 packaging due to limited adoption and hardware limitations regarding native 8K rendering. While the standard console lacks the power for playable 8K frame rates, the PlayStation 5 Pro utilizes PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) to upscale images to higher resolutions.

To complement the console, Sony has released the BRAVIA 9 K-75XR90, a flagship 75-inch Mini-LED 4K Ultra HD television. This display is optimized for PlayStation 5 gaming, utilizing Mini-LED and QLED technology to provide high brightness and contrast for use in rooms with ambient light.
