Sony has introduced ‘Live TV on PS5’, a free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) service for PlayStation 5 users in the United States. Developed by Sony Pictures Television, the service is integrated into the console’s Media tab and requires a PlayStation Network account and a Sony Pictures CORE account, rather than a separate monthly subscription.

The service offers access to over 100 live channels and on-demand content across various genres, including news, sports, movies, and anime. Content partners include NBCUniversal, FOX, Amazon MGM Studios, AMC, Lionsgate, and Crunchyroll. Programming features specific offerings such as ‘Naruto’, ‘Death Note’, and news from NBC News Now and ABC News.

Following the initial United States launch, Sony intends to expand the service to Canada and plans to make the offering available on BRAVIA televisions later this year.
