Sony is expanding its PlayStation ecosystem through new hardware-themed collectibles and software releases. Initial reports highlighted an upcoming 1,911-piece LEGO PlayStation 1 set scheduled for release in October, which features dioramas of classic titles such as Gran Turismo and Ape Escape. Additionally, Insomniac Games announced the PlayStation 5 release of ‘Marvel’s Wolverine’, a title noted for its PEGI-18 rating due to violence.

On October 4, 2026, the LEGO PlayStation set (72306) officially launched for general sale. Designed as a nearly 1:1 scale adult display piece, the model includes interactive elements like a connectable controller and functional-looking ‘Open’ and ‘Power’ buttons. The set is priced at $179.99 in the United States, £139.99 in the United Kingdom, €159.99 in Europe, and 27,980 yen in Japan.

Following the release, enthusiasts have sought ways to enhance the model’s authenticity. To address the absence of a memory card in the official set, creators from the site Stone Wars developed a ‘My Own Creation’ (MOC) guide. This guide instructs users on how to use approximately 37 grey bricks from the LEGO Pick a Brick program to build a scaled replica memory card that fits into the set’s designated slot, though it requires replacing a specific 1x6 tile within the original model.

To celebrate the launch, PlayStation UK is hosting an immersive event titled ‘LEGO | PlayStation Built to Play’ at Westfield London from October 23 to 25. The free event will feature themed environments based on the included games and opportunities for visitors to build custom LEGO minifigures.
