Following the introduction of new technologies at IMID 2026, manufacturers are moving toward specific product applications and mass production. 

In the monitor sector, MSI announced plans to release the PRO MAX OLED 271UPJW12 monitor in early 2027. This device will utilize Inkjet Printing (IJP) technology, a deposition process that uses inkjet printing to place organic materials for the pixels. The monitor will feature an RGB sub-pixel arrangement to improve color reproduction and text clarity, with an expected price of approximately 699 euros.

Samsung Display has confirmed it will begin mass production of its first 24.5-inch Full HD QD-OLED panels before the end of 2026. This expansion targets the competitive gaming and eSports markets, where the 24 to 25-inch format is standard for maintaining a full field of view. Several global PC manufacturers have already planned product launches using these displays. This move follows LG Display’s unveiling of a 25-inch WOLED panel. Samsung Display currently holds a significant market position, having shipped approximately 2.5 million QD-OLED monitor panels last year, representing nearly 75% of the overall self-emissive monitor panel market.

At the SigmaIntel Display Summit, industry experts highlighted shifts aimed at reducing manufacturing costs. Key discussions included reducing mask counts in lithography to lower defect rates and production time. High Mobility Oxide (HMO) is emerging as a potential replacement for LTPO technology, with predictions that Apple may lead adoption starting with the Apple Watch in 2027. Additionally, manufacturers are pursuing FMM-free technologies, such as Visionox’s Intelligent Pixelization (ViP) and LG Display’s FLiPP patterning, to support the growth of AI glasses and XR markets.
