South Korea has completed the development of its first mass-produced micro-satellite constellation. The constellation consists of five units, each weighing less than 100kg and equipped with electro-optical cameras for high-resolution imaging. Developed by the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) and KAIST, these satellites are intended to enhance national security, disaster response, and earth observation.

Following this development, KASA officially approved the fifth launch of the Nuri (KSLV-II) rocket. This mission is scheduled to deploy 15 satellites into sun-synchronous orbit, including the five micro-constellation satellites and 10 CubeSats for ionospheric and oceanographic research. Additionally, KASA approved an adjusted development plan for the Korea Positioning System (KPS), aiming to complete the deployment of eight domestic navigation satellites by 2035.
