The South Korean Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment has designated 11 priority areas for sewage system maintenance to prevent urban flooding caused by heavy rainfall. The government plans to invest approximately 550 billion won into these sites to upgrade sewage pipes, construct or expand pumping stations, and install rainwater catch basins.

Specific regional projects include:

In Buyeo County, the Ippo-ri area in Yanghwa-myeon was selected for a 33.4 billion won project to build a new rainwater pumping station and renovate storm drains.

Goyang City announced that the Hwajeong-dong area in Deogyang-gu will receive 23.4 billion won for sewage improvements following severe flooding last year, with a target completion date of 2030.

In South Chungcheong Province, the areas of Asan, Seosan, and Buyeo are part of a larger initiative involving 165 billion won in total investment. This plan covers 4.38 square kilometers and includes the maintenance of sewage pipes and rainwater pumping stations, with construction expected to begin in 2028.
