South Korea is actively engaging in various youth sports initiatives, ranging from international tournament hosting to concerns over Olympic preparation.

Following a victory at the Asian Games, questions have been raised regarding the development of the nation’s Olympic-generation football players. Experts suggest that the focus on securing military exemptions through the Asian Games may have delayed the preparation of the U-23 squad for the 2028 Olympics, especially as qualifying slots in Asia have been reduced.

Simultaneously, the country is hosting major international youth competitions to foster global exchange. These include the Gyeonggi Province Governor's Cup Youth Ice Hockey Tournament, which saw record participation, and the Hwarangdae Cup International Youth Football Tournament, which features academies from countries such as Brazil and Portugal.
