Discussions regarding the implications of artificial intelligence have focused on technical advancements and ethical frameworks in Spain.

In late September, the University of León hosted the 42nd Congress of the Spanish Society for Natural Language Processing (Sepln). During the event, Sepln president Rafael Muñoz argued that AI should serve as a tool to increase human efficiency while remaining under human supervision to ensure that “final decision-making remains a human responsibility.”

Following this, the Gandia Pensa forum scheduled a discussion for mid-October titled ‘Humanities and ethics around artificial intelligence’. This session, centered on Agustín Fernández Mallo’s essay ‘El ángel de la Inteligencia Artificial’, aims to examine how algorithms reflect the human condition and how AI transforms the creation, communication, and consumption of culture through lenses such as physics, anthropology, and metaphysics.
