Data from various Spanish regions indicate a high frequency of housing auctions failing to attract bidders.

In Bizkaia, between late 2025 and late 2026, approximately 38.5% of auctioned housing lots received no bids. Among the lots that did receive offers, the median maximum bid was 76% of the auction value, with only four lots exceeding their advertised price. These judicial auctions were concentrated in Bilbao and Barakaldo.

Broader studies show similar trends in other provinces. In Granada, 35.5% of analyzed auctions ended without bids, with a median maximum bid of 66% of the auction value. In Cantabria, the rate of zero bids reached 65.7%. Nationally, across Spain, 1,168 out of 3,732 analyzed results ended without offers. The highest proportions of auctions without bids were recorded in Teruel (87.2%), Cantabria (65.7%), and Lleida (55.6%).
