In late September 2026, the Spanish book market saw significant activity regarding bestseller rankings and upcoming releases. Carmen Mola’s ‘Los huérfanos’ topped fiction sales lists, alongside works by Andrea Abreu and Lucía Solla Sobral.

Attention also focused on filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar’s literary debut, ‘El hombre que solo escribía en los aviones’, a novel centered on the character Flavio Guijarro. Following the initial news of this debut, the Tirant lo Blanch bookstore included Almodóvar’s work in a list of recommended reading, alongside titles by Rosa Montero, Sergio Ocampo Madrid, Juliana Gómez Nieto, and James E. Sanders.
