The Spanish media landscape is undergoing significant restructuring and programming updates for the 2026-2027 season.

New developments include the upcoming launch of the television channel La Séptima on November 5, which is building a roster of talent including Alba Carrillo, Marta Márquez, Javier Ruiz, and Rocío Delgado. Regarding the transition of Javier Ruiz, Cadena SER clarified that his departure from the station was a “mutual agreement” rather than an abrupt dismissal. Ruiz, the former host of ‘Hora 25 de los Negocios’, is moving to La Séptima to serve as editorial director. Consequently, ‘Hora 25 de los Negocios’ has been removed from the schedule, with economic news being integrated into the broader ‘Hora 25’ program, now led by José Luis Sastre.

In a separate move, journalist Josep Pedrerol and his team are transitioning to Mediaset España, where the program ‘El Chiringuito’ will broadcast on Energy and Cuatro.

Public broadcasters are implementing major changes. RTVE is overhauling its news services with a unified visual identity across Telediarios, Canal 24 Horas, and regional centers. Radio Nacional de España (RNE) is also introducing technological innovations for its 90th anniversary.

Private broadcasters are renewing their lineups. Mediaset España is preparing ‘Rueda la Letra’ with Carlos Sobera and a new season of ‘El Programa de Ana Rosa’. Antena 3 is launching ‘La Mesa’ with Cristina Pardo. Mediaset is also restructuring news teams, with Roberto Arce moving to Informativos Telecinco and Diego Arce taking his position at Noticias Cuatro.

In the radio sector, Cadena SER is undergoing reorganization. Aimar Bretos has succeeded Àngels Barceló as the leader of ‘Hoy por hoy’. In Catalonia, RAC1 continues with Jordi Basté and Toni Clapés.
