Local governments in Spain have conducted various award ceremonies to recognize community contributions and excellence.

In late September, Ponteareas held the second Menina Sarmiento Awards to honor groups in sports, social commitment, business, and culture. Concurrently, Ronda presented the 2026 Puente del Turismo Awards to entities in the hospitality, wine, and gastronomy sectors, noting that the city has seen over 1.3 million visitors in 2026.

By mid-October, recognition efforts shifted toward social contributions in rural areas. In Ronda, the City Council honored seven women for their dedication to their respective districts. In Torrox, the 2026 Mujer Rural de la Axarquia awards recognized a police officer for public safety work and a community member for efforts to preserve regional traditions through theater and music.
