Spanish municipalities are expanding home assistance services for the elderly and dependent individuals through new local government contracts.

In Soutomaior, a contract worth over 1.4 million euros was awarded to the company Idades to manage the Home Assistance Service (SAF). Beginning September 1, this two-year agreement aims to increase available care hours from 18,100 in 2022 to 30,050, a 66% increase intended to eliminate waiting lists for specific dependency levels. 

In Navalmoral de la Mata, the City Council has initiated a tender for a one-year Home Assistance Service with a budget of 276,149.50 euros. This service, providing 24,080 hours of care, focuses on supporting daily activities such as mobility, medication management, personal hygiene, and companionship to prevent social isolation.
