Municipalities in Spain have begun administrative processes to prepare for the 2027 Three Kings festivities.

In Baena, the City Council’s Department of Festivals and Youth opened applications from October 6 to October 20, 2026, for a lottery to select the individual portraying King Melchor. The selection is scheduled via a public draw on October 22 at the Liceo Theater.

Similarly, the Linares City Council announced guidelines for selecting the individuals to portray Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar. Residents may apply between October 26 and November 13, 2026, with a public drawing set for November 26 at the Julián Jiménez Pavilion.
