Regional authorities in Spain are advancing infrastructure projects to modernize emergency response services through the construction of new fire stations.

In Adra, the City Council unanimously approved an agreement to establish a new station. The municipality will provide the land, while the Poniente Almeriense Fire Prevention and Extinction Consortium will manage the technical project, construction, and equipment. Mayor Manuel Cortés noted the move fulfills a “long-standing local demand” to improve response times for emergencies.

In the provinces of Castellón and Alicante, similar developments are underway. In Castellón, a contract has been provisionally awarded for a new facility in Oropesa del Mar with a budget exceeding 3.5 million euros. In Alicante, construction has begun on a 4.77 million euro station in Elda. This new facility will include a vehicle hangar, a maneuver tower, and a helipad to serve 15 municipalities within the Vinalopó Operational Zone.
