Sources: 10. Developments: 2. Public holiday schedules in Spain vary by region and retailer during the autumn period of 2026. During the National Holiday on October 12, retail operations showed significant variation. Major distributor Mercadona closed most of its nearly 1,600 locations, while other retailers like Carrefour, Lidl, and Aldi implemented different strategies. In Andalusia, the holiday was designated as a shopping day, allowing various centers to remain open. For All Saints’ Day on November 1, schedules are determined by regional regulations. Because the holiday falls on a Sunday, nine autonomous communities—including Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, the Canary Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, the Community of Madrid, and Navarre—have moved the holiday to Monday, November 2, creating a three-day weekend. According to the Official State Gazette (BOE) and regional labor calendars, these regions will observe the long weekend by transferring the rest day. In contrast, other regions, such as the Basque Country, will not transfer the holiday, meaning workers in those areas will not receive an additional day off on Monday. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-16: Spain holiday transfers for All Saints' Day in 2026 In 2026, All Saints' Day falls on a Sunday, leading nine Spanish autonomous communities, including Andalusia and Madrid, to transfer the holiday to Monday, November 2, creating a long weekend. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/spain-holiday-schedule-for-all-saints-day-varies-by-region ### 2026-10-11: Spain retail schedules vary for October 12 National Holiday Spanish retailers are following varied schedules for the October 12 National Holiday.
