In Salou, registrations have opened for the 12th edition of the Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada, set for May 9, 2027. This edition introduces the ‘T100 Distance’ to replace the former Middle Distance category, a move intended to align the event with major international circuits. Concurrently, the Spanish Triathlon Federation (FETRI) has released its 2027 competition calendar, which includes various international events such as the T100 Marbella and World Cups in Lanzarote, Tarragona, and Melilla. The calendar also features European Championships in Cáceres, Ceuta, and Calahorra, alongside several national championships. Furthermore, FETRI has launched the Hyatlón Ambar Tour, a new fitness racing circuit that integrates running with functional stations. FETRI President José Hidalgo characterized the circuit as a ‘pioneering project’ that utilizes technology and may eventually evolve into an Olympic discipline. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-09: Spanish Triathlon Federation announces 2027 calendar and new racing circuit The Spanish Triathlon Federation has announced its 2027 calendar, featuring World Cups and European Championships, while launching the new Hyatlón Ambar Tour fitness racing circuit in Madrid. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/spanish-triathlon-federation-announces-2027-calendar-and-new-racing-circuit ### 2026-10-06: Salou opens registrations for Challenge Salou 2027 triathlon Registrations are open for the 12th Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada on May 9, 2027, featuring the new T100 Distance category to enhance its international triathlon standing. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/salou-opens-registrations-for-challenge-salou-2027-triathlon --- Cite as: Spanish triathlon competition developments.
