Spartak Pleven basketball began its season with a preseason Pleven Cup tournament, where the team lost both matches against Petrolul Ploiești and Universitatea Craiova. Manager Bogdan Petkov noted that the squad showed “character and fighting spirit” despite the losses, which were attributed to a roster missing nearly half its players due to injuries.

Following the preseason, the team transitioned to the European North Basketball League (ENBL). In their matchup against AEL Limassol, Spartak Pleven suffered a 61:79 home defeat. Head coach Zhelko Lukayich attributed the loss to the opponent’s aggressive defense and physical advantages, as well as psychological issues that led to poor shooting accuracy.
