Developments: 4. Marvel Comics has reached a major milestone with the release of Amazing Spider-Man #1000. The 100-page special issue features various stories from high-profile creators, including Frank Miller, Brian Bendis, and Peach Momoko. The central narrative, ‘Ravaged’, written by Joe Kelly with art by Pepe Larraz, introduces Cormac Crane—Peter Parker’s biological cousin—as the villain Ravage. Using telepathic powers, Crane manipulates Aunt May’s memories, causing her to lose her connection to Peter while forming a bond with Cormac. The issue also includes a futuristic tale by Noah Hawley and Patrick Gleason, and an Avengers segment by Brian Bendis and Stuart Immonen. Following this milestone, Amazing Spider-Man #1001 continues the personal conflict established in the previous issue. The narrative shifts into a supernatural detective story as Peter Parker attempts to navigate the loss of his relationship with Aunt May and confront the circumstances behind her condition. Regarding franchise history, co-writer Chris McKenna provided further details on a scrapped storyline for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. The original draft featured Peter Parker living on a boat in Southeast Asia and fighting criminal gangs. The plot included a legal conflict where an imposter attempted to trademark the Spider-Man identity, leading to a planned courtroom battle where Matt Murdock, acting as Daredevil, would defend Parker. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-13: Spider-Man reaches 1,000-issue milestone in Marvel comics Spider-Man celebrates a milestone with 1,000 issues, while the latest installment, issue #1001, follows Peter Parker as he faces a personal crisis involving Aunt May's lost memories. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/spider-man-reaches-1000-issue-milestone-in-marvel-comics ### 2026-09-30: Amazing Spider-Man #1000 marks milestone with major plot developments Amazing Spider-Man #1000 celebrates its milestone release with a 100-page special issue featuring a major plot twist involving Peter Parker’s cousin, Cormac Crane, who emerges as the villain Ravage. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/amazing-spider-man-1000-marks-milestone-with-major-plot-developments ### 2026-09-20: Spider-Man franchise news: Scrapped Daredevil team-up and comic milestones Early drafts of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ featured a scrapped legal team-up with Daredevil, while the Spider-Man comic franchise approaches its 1000th issue milestone. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/spider-man-franchise-news-scrapped-daredevil-team-up-and-comic-milestones ### 2026-09-10: Marvel previews Amazing Spider-Man #1000 milestone issue Marvel has previewed Amazing Spider-Man #1000, a milestone issue arriving September 30 that explores Aunt May’s fate and introduces a new villain, Ravage. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/marvel-previews-amazing-spider-man-1000-milestone-issue --- Cite as: Spider-Man franchise developments.
