Recent developments at Sporting CP involve the integration of key players into the first team under manager Rui Borges.

Midfielder Sergi Altimira has completed his first three months with the club, becoming the most utilized outfield player and leading the team in ball recoveries. Altimira noted the physical nature of the Portuguese league compared to Spain’s LaLiga and described the club’s environment as a ‘family atmosphere.’

Concurrently, the club is preparing 18-year-old Moroccan left-back Moncef Zekri for first-team integration. Following his three million euro transfer from Mechelen, Zekri has been training with the senior squad and playing matches for the B team to regain competitive rhythm. He is being viewed as a long-term option for the left flank, with a potential debut expected in the Allianz Cup.
