Sports development initiatives in Northern Cyprus involve various training programs for athletic officials and professionals.

In late August 2026, the Northern Cyprus Turkish Football Coaches Association announced a mandatory makeup seminar for football coaches and technical directors. The two-day event, scheduled for September 1-2, was designed to facilitate work permits for the 2026-2027 season for those who missed previous training due to health or professional obligations.

Following this, the Northern Cyprus Water Sports Federation announced a Candidate Swimming Referee Course for October 2–4, 2026. The program, which includes instructors appointed by the Turkish Swimming Federation, aims to train officials to meet national and international standards through theoretical and practical instruction.
