SSV Ulm is experiencing a sporting crisis following a period of rapid advancement through the German football leagues, including a rise from the Regionalliga Südwest to the 2. Bundesliga. The club has since struggled, finding itself at the bottom of the Regionalliga Südwest.

Following a series of poor results, including a 0-1 home defeat against Eintracht Trier, the club dismissed sporting director Murat Isik, head coach Daniel Jungwirth, and assistant coach Martin Minks. Club leadership stated these changes were required to “trigger a positive turnaround” in performance. U19 coach Timo Wenzel has been appointed to lead training in the interim while the club seeks permanent successors.
