St. John’s began its preseason exhibition schedule with a 104-99 quadruple overtime victory against Rutgers at Madison Square Garden. Despite an 18-point deficit in the first half, the Red Storm secured the win behind 24 points from Ian Jackson and a 24-point, 14-rebound performance from Keyshawn Hall.

Following wins against Drexel and Rutgers, St. John’s concluded its preseason exhibition schedule with an 87-74 victory over No. 7 Texas at Madison Square Garden. The No. 13 ranked Red Storm were led by Keyshawn Hall, who scored 24 points, and Tounde Yessoufou, who contributed 23 points.

St. John’s utilized strong ball movement, recording 19 assists, and defensive pressure that converted 16 Texas turnovers into 20 points. Texas, coached by Sean Miller, saw Isaiah Johnson score 18 points, but the team struggled defensively in the paint. The win serves as a momentum builder for St. John’s ahead of its regular season opener on November 2.
