A 22-year-old man was arrested in Piombino, Livorno, following an attempted murder involving a stabbing during a violent altercation in a city center parking lot. 

The incident, which occurred between August 16 and August 17, reportedly began as a dispute between the suspect and his girlfriend. The situation escalated when the suspect allegedly damaged her vehicle. When the woman’s father arrived to assist, a second argument broke out, leading the suspect to reportedly draw a knife and strike the man three times. The wounds were inflicted on the victim’s chest, abdomen, groin, and forearm.

Carabinieri officers arrived to find the suspect in possession of a bloodstained weapon, which was seized at the scene. The victim was hospitalized under reserved prognosis but is reported to be out of life-threatening danger. A judge has validated the arrest and ordered the suspect to be held in pretrial detention in Livorno.
