On September 13, a 65-year-old man was arrested in the Madou District of Tainan following a random stabbing attack near a school. The suspect, described as being in an “unstable mental state,” used a fruit knife to attack passersby, resulting in five injuries. 

Among the injured was a 25-year-old police officer who was wounded while attempting to subdue the man. After verbal commands failed, officers fired two shots, striking the suspect in the abdomen and thigh to facilitate the arrest. All victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
