Stade Toulousain has moved to secure the long-term future of key players amid transfer interest. Second row Emmanuel Meafou reportedly accepted a contract extension for up to five seasons, choosing continuity over an attractive offer from Stade Français. Additionally, prop David Ainu’u is expected to remain with the club, effectively ending rumors of a transfer to Union Bordeaux-Bègles.

Following the finalization of Meafou’s deal, the player suffered a significant injury. A rupture of the lateral collateral ligament in his left knee required surgery, which is expected to sideline him for two to three months. French national team head coach Fabien Galthié criticized the tackle that caused the injury, describing it as “illegal” and calling for improved player protection.
