Stadler has introduced new FLIRT train models for various international rail operators. In the United States, the company unveiled a battery-powered FLIRT train designed for Metra in Chicago. This model utilizes lithium-titanate battery packs and a fast-charging system to operate on both electrified and non-electrified routes, with service expected to begin by 2028.

In Lithuania, Lithuanian Railways has launched the first of 15 new Stadler FLIRT electric trains, marking a significant fleet renewal. While electric models are currently operating on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Vilnius route, battery-powered units are scheduled to begin service on several other routes by December to accommodate sections of the network lacking full electrification.
