The deceased family reported that the priest initially refused to perform the mass because the monetary offering was insufficient and expressed dissatisfaction regarding the family’s choice of funeral provider.

Although the service was eventually conducted after parishioners intervened, witnesses described the ceremony as “arrogant,” noting it lacked a sermon or mention of the deceased. 

Following these events, Archbishop Józef Kupny accepted Paszyński’s resignation. The priest is scheduled to remain in his position until August 31, 2026, while the Archdiocese of Wrocław works to appoint a successor.
