Starlux Airlines has initiated a period of network and infrastructure expansion. The airline launched its first European service with a direct route between Taipei and Prague, utilizing Airbus A350 aircraft. 

Following this route launch, the company announced investments exceeding 4.5 billion TWD to develop a pilot and cabin crew training base and foundational work for its corporate headquarters park. Additionally, Starlux obtained an aviation ground handling license to provide services to other carriers. Despite these developments and a 30% increase in year-on-year revenue, the airline reported a net loss of 346 million TWD for the first half of the year, driven largely by a 124% surge in international aviation fuel costs.

Expanding its Northeast Asian network, the airline announced it will launch a new route connecting Taichung, Taiwan, to Nagoya, Japan, on October 25. Operating with Airbus A321neo aircraft, the service will initially provide four weekly flights. CEO Cai Jianhua noted that Nagoya serves as a “primary gateway” for travelers to central Japan, stating the move aims to “deepen its presence in the central Taiwan market.” This addition brings the airline’s international destinations from Taichung to a total of 12.
