The State of Mexico has issued the 2026 State Youth Awards to recognize students from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx) for their community contributions.

Diana Sofía Sánchez Aguilar received the award in the Young Social Impact category for her initiative providing free taekwondo classes to vulnerable children and youth to teach discipline and responsibility. 

Daira Naomi Bautista Sánchez was honored in the ‘Raíces que inspiran’ (Roots that Inspire) category for her work in San José del Rincón to preserve Mazahua cultural heritage through language classes, traditional dance, embroidery, and medicine.
